And I’m elated that you’ve found someone to entertain your silly questions, someone you can share your wins in life with, someone who picks you up when you’ve had a rough day, someone who listens to you and someone who looks at you like you’re the only one he sees. I can honestly say that while this is the proudest moment of my life today, my heart breaks a little, knowing that you belong to someone else now.” An excerpt from the wedding day of Brandon and Xing Zhi. This short paragraph was extracted from the speech given by Xing Zhi’s elder brother, Song Zhen. As much as I would not like to admit, I shed a tear when I heard this part of his speech. Song Zhen’s form of brotherly love for Xing Zhi was unparalleled. When he was giving that speech at church that day, everyone seated in the audience could felt how close these two siblings were when they were in Perth. It was at the wedding, Song Zhen reminded all of us present, that love comes in all forms and it was evident when he shed his tears at the altar. I’m sure it was difficult for Brandon and Xing Zhi when Xing Zhi was away in Perth an entire year for an overseas work assignment. However, having gone through one entire year of long distance relationship, it was certain that their relationship could withstand anything, unwavering and tough like a rock. It was at the wedding, Brandon reminded all of us present, that love comes in all forms and distance was not an obstacle block, but a building block to strengthen their love. Wishing them the sweetest marriage life in their years ahead as they enter the next chapter of their lives.
